Hi guys, this is my newest love, I got this from my good friend Roland, It started out I was suppose to just get it running for him so he could sell it, but as it sit out side my bed room window, I found myself getting up several times every night to look at it, talking abought love at first sight, since the first time I saw this truck It took me weeks to stop thinking abought it every time I saw it, and now that its sitting in my back yard I cant sleep, so I talked to my friend and we made a deal for it, I'm so happy I cant stand it.
It appears to be all original, it needs some tlc but that's ok, Iv got lots of that headed her way :p
Roland said it drove when he parked it, and the engine turns over, so I'm hoping she wont need to much and Ill be driving her every day, well if Im not driving one of my Model As.
The tag on it says, 1990, been sitting 21 years waiting on me, heh.
I'm gonna do the master cylinder, wheel cylinders and breaks, do a twice over on every thing, change all the fluids, put new bias plies on her and drive drive drive, yippee.

I was looking @ a 48 F1 before I decided on the 39, that will be a nice project. Like the 48 I was eyeing, I'd leave the patina and build a nice clean flathead under the hood:D

thanks guys, I love this ol girl, and cant wait to drive her.
Job is slow ken, working from home these days, only job I can find around here is 10 dollars a hour, amazing. But at least I have some work, mostly rust repairs, hah, hard work, Id rather build something.
So that's a 53 hood ornament Vic ?

Nice truck Elwood! It's so easy to fall in love with any of these early Ford V8's. It happens to me every time I see one. I fantasize buying and bringing everyone I find home :)

Yup, it looks just like the one on our '53 Crestline Sunliner.

Elwood, that looks like a good start! The body looks solid. I think the `48-`50's are classic looking trucks.

PS I really like your Avatar. Clever!

Very nice truck,I have one also,I really enjoy driving mine.Mine was a Texas truck it's whole life.It was brought up here to Wis 11 years ago and the guy didn't do anything with it and sold it.The V8 flatty was stuck from sitting but I got it loose and running really well, put a master in it and have been driving it almost every day since.
Have fun with it
Joe

Man finds dog. Man falls in love with dog. Man thinks it was spontaneous, but the dog and God had it all planned out eons ago. That sounds like the story of your sweet old truck. If she was mine, I'd name her dog. Maybe just between her and me, but I'd do it. God would smile each time you said it. I'd bet on that.

Elwood nice truck i know what's like to get excited about an early ford truck...i remember as a kid buying my first intake manifold for a flathead...like a kid in the candy store!!
