Lost ignition key

Does (did) your ignition key operate the door lock? If so, you can take the door lock out and order a key by the number on the door lock.

If you don't have a matching door one Under the barrel there's a 1/8 brass plug drill that out and remove the barrel its a about 1/4 " deep ,on the end there's a number take that and get one cut .Ted

Good suggestions. On the '40, the ignition key opened the passenger door, so I took out that lock cylinder, for the code off it, and gave to an old time locksmith who looked up the numbers and cut a key for the ignition with them. The old one was so worn out, it wouldn't work. The code might look something like this; FK799, he looked it up on lockcodes.com, and it gave the cuts, depths, and key blank #s.

Been there, take the passenger door lock out and get a key made for it!

Once you have the door lock cylinder out and the key code read, if you can't find someone locally who will cut you a key, send me a PM and I can cut you one using my Curtis key cutter.
