Loose Head Bolt 3

Went on our tour without repairing the broken head bolt. Ran the a about 400 miles over 5 days. Very hot in the nineties for 3 days. Ran like a top. No problems. Awaiting delivery from Snyder's of head stud drill out collett and bit, new gasket and stud. Since I may have been running with a broken bolt the last 2 years. I'll wait until I've got plenty of free time before I pull the head. The last time on my other A it was a bit of a chore.
Thanks for all the help and advice.

use the head as a centering tool to drill the stud in the middle. this will give you a center starting spot to drill the proper size hole in stud to remove it.

Check your oil for milky foamy, if none, your lucky! Antifreeze in oil eats bearings, don't ask how I know.
