I use Autolite 386 copper core 18mm plugs. ive had my '37 forder for 5 yrs now and have had 3 sets of them in mostly for test before and after new carb with probably 1k mi. in between each set. they have worked great. oreillys is where purchased.i get all my oil there too. 10w40 conv.their store brand.its only in there about 1k mi. there is no oil filter. i drive the'37 almost ever day. Tom.
Rock Auto has those Autolite 386's for $1.01 right now.

if you have an oreillys near it might be close comparison price. don't know what rock auto shipping would be never ordered anything from them. Tom.
This is the spark plug I run in all flatheads where the heads require a 7/16 reach plug. I've found these B6L NGKs to be superior to the Champion H-10's of modern manufacturer.

For some reason, I thought he needed 18mm plugs. If not and they are 14mm, I agree 100% with the NGK's.

Is there a difference in the quality of "modern manufacture" plugs to the H-10 plugs of yesteryear Dale?

I used to run Champion plugs in my flatheads (50 years ago) - and they seemed just fine. In modern times I've had issues with them fouling and then not seeming to work once they were fouled. This has been on multiple engines - flatheads and OHVs. I'd had experiences at the race track (El Mirage), where our crew (before I arrived) put in a set of Champion plugs into our blown Flathead Cadillac motor, probably pumped too much fuel into the engine . . . it attempted to fire and then they couldn't start it.
When I got to ElMo, everybody was hang-dog saying the magneto/ignition had failed, no spare . . . blah, blah, blah. I asked them what plugs they had put in the engine --> Champions. I asked if we had any NGKs in the trailer? They said "Yes" . . . and I relayed my issue with fouling and that I suspected this was the reason it wouldn't start. Everybody thought I was nuts . . . so, they kept sulking in their chairs.
I went into the trailer, gapped a set of NGKs and swapped them in and asked for help starting it (blown alcohol injected - takes two people) - it fired right up, and we were off and running. They couldn't believe it - but witnessed it with their own eyes. Since that time, we've never ran Champion plugs in the motor.
Now, that is just my own experience - maybe others have had better experiences, but I run with what has worked for me.
