looking for info on Lucas Flathead distributors

I'm trying to find one of these Lucas Distributers. I'm building a 1929 model a with a flat head, Using Lucas electric fuel pump, turn signal switch. and other stuff that I can find. reason being memories of my Dad's MG TC Me sitting in the back of the car on road rallies with Mom and Dad.

I had a Lucas on my 81A Cabriolet when I was 18yrs old. Never touched it, started on half turn of the crankshaft, you could barely hear that the starter had engaged. The body was full of bondo, but it ran beautifully.

Chris Sanders in the UK could probably help with parts, PM me if you want his contact details

Jembo would Chris have magneto parts also? I may need parts for Lucas Distributors & magnetos. Thanks. Cheers
Tony

Yes, a lot of knowledge, old and new. My last two British vehicles were from the seventies and I agree the older stuff was considerably better made. I think it was in the mid '70s when they came out with intermittent headlights.

i disagree GB, the switch that 51 merc shows on the previous page looks older than the 70's. perhaps "flicker" was the previous term for "intermittent":)
