When I see a complete engine like that my first thought is it was removed from a good Model A being rodded, and there's a good chance it is a good running engine. It is a gamble though, and I paid way too much one time for an engine that sounded good and had no blowby while running on the stand. I paid too much because when I pulled the head I found all 4 cylinders had deep grooves cut in them from the wrist pins.
I bought a complete engine for only $125 about 10 years ago from a car being rodded. I haven't run it yet, but am hoping it's as good as it looks.
I wonder why the distributor and water outlet are missing? Since you have open holes there is a good chance mice have gotten inside. I think Larry put a fair value on it.
If you had the flywheel for the multiplate ******, then that could bring a couple hundred. If the top was removed from the ******, and the gears look good, then the ****** should fetch about $125. At least that's what I'd pay if I needed it.
Use care so you don't break the crank pulley.
