Since I have been having all kinds of fuel related problems on my 55 F100, I am having my 1 barrel carburetor being rebuilt by Charlie in NY and have removed my original and very dirty gas tank and have replaced it with a new polypropholyne tank. At this point, considering my old tank was full of garbage, would I be better off replacing the metal fuel line instead of blowing compressed air through what I have now? I think so but would like to hear other opinions. Thanks.

Well you went and installed a plastic tank.
So why not replace the metal fuel lines with AeroQuip lines, they look good too. Many $'s though. One out let is Strange Engineering in Evanston, Illinois. Too expensive?

Go cheap go NAPA steel lines.

skip.

Steve if the tank was full of garbage,so is the line and its steel so deep six that to . Go new from the tank to carb and every thing inbetween. You couldn't have made a better choice than Charlie. He good. ken ct.

I've always been told to use steel for fuel line. Steel originally, steel replacement. Copper may be illegal.

Get two long steel or stainless brake lines from your favorite parts store and a union to fasten them together. Cheap.
Do NOT use copper. IT WILL EVENTUALLY BREAK! Ya, I know you've been using copper for years.
If you have dual exausts then I would run the new line on the outside of the frame.
