Looking for 1935 Brake Pedal Return Spring

I know its been discussed here before, I read the messages. Where can I get the smaller of the two brake return springs, it is about 3.44 inches long, no one seems to have one for 1935.

No, doesn't have to be correct. I did try Tractor supply. The spring was too weak to work. I will try Lowe's, maybe they have a better one. Thanks for the idea. I did get a clutch spring from a supplier. It was impossible to get into the hole in the chassis.

Have you tried SOUTHSIDE OBSOLETE? > https://southsideobsolete.com/

It's Ford Part Number 48-7523 and is 3.44" long

I did get the part number 48 7523. It was 3.44 inches long. It did NOT look exactly like that. Both ends were the same, impossible to fit in the chassis hole. I wound up heating and bending it and of course it broke. There is a discussion here from 2017 or so that questions the number also even though I see Ford calls it 48 7523.

Check with Third Gen Auto in Tenn or Southside Obsolete in Minn.
The number is 7523 because it is used on both the brake and clutch pedals.

I have this one, no idea why its red. Looks generic otherwise. It came in a box of '40 parts I bought. Cheap to you if interested. It measures 3.5ish end to end through the bag.

Art Doctor, I think the brake and clutch springs are not the same. I think the spring you show has two of the same ends, I can't be 100% sure though. It has to have a longer hook end on the frame hole side or it won't go in. Barnfind08, I think you do have one, you had one years ago in that conversation about the springs. Can you post a picture or send one to my phone? I also did email South Obsolete Parts, seems thats the way to order.

There is a note in the 1937 parts book when using 48-7523 for the brake pedal return spring. When adding 48-7523 it will be necessary to drill 1/4" hole approximately 3/4" from top flange of bracket and 1/2" from center line of bracket toward the front of chassis in 48-5059.

Yeah! Got the CORRECT spring from Fred at Obsolete. It went right on!! He says he has a lot more of them, I don't know where else you would get them.
