I wonder if he blocked off the valves on the open side? I see no exhaust from the exposed valves!

I did this on my engine, while I had one head off. Any flathead will run like this, but not well. (Due to massive air leaks etc). I suspect he did something to make it run better as a display piece.

If you look carefully you can see the ignition sparks jumping - not a great idea.
