Locking Scroll Handle

I would like to find a L/R pair of locking scroll door handles.
The stem is longer than most and tapped for attaching the inside handle.
The bezel is flat where it meets the body.
Parts or leads are appreciated.

The original Model A locking scroll was for the passenger side only, just the cabriolet's had a flat bezel (with a threaded end), none were tapped on the end for an inside handle. No such handle as you describe appears in the Ford Automotive Hardware and Trimming Supplies catalog. Someone could have made alterations to handles, or perhaps you are seeking handles from/for some other application. Foreign A's with right hand drive could possibly have had a left side locking scroll, but I have never seen documentation supporting that.

Well, you learn something every day! Thanks for setting me straight. I've been fooling with stainless handles, locking scrolls being my favorite, for about 35 years and never heard of these. Wonder if Ron Accornero knows about them. It would be easy to make up a passenger side handle, but the driver's (left) side, really tough. Since you have established that a left side locking handle did in fact exist, perhaps it had some foreign applications in rhd countries. Good luck.

Hi, Dave -
I had a bit of good fortune. The owner of the passenger-side handle pictured in that article contacted me with an offer to sell it to me. Of course I bought it.
I still need the driver's side handle, however.
I searched Ford Barn for Ron Accornero, but nothing came up.
Could you put me in contact with him?
Thanks, James

Hi James,
Ron Accornero and I exchanged e mails 5 or more years ago regarding door handles. Ron had written an excellent study on them that was published in the Model A Ford Club of America's magazine, The Restorer. Unfortunately, I no longer have his address. MAFCA could be contacted for it, or at least to have a message sent to him.
So interesting that the vehicle you have had a driver's side locking handle! Bet Ron will love hearing that.
MAFCA may be contacted at info@mafca.com or by calling 562-697-2712.
I'd like to know his address too, please let me know by a PM
Dave H.
