Locating defective ignition coil

I'm sure there are several ways to locate a bad coil in a 1925 coupe. I would like to learn an experienced owners method. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch...

With the car running, you can look at the coils and see which one is not firing. What is happening that you think it is a bad coil? Call me if you want or dare...

That's about it. If you have a miss you can also short out the plugs one at a time to find which cyl./coil it is.

With a PLASTIC HANDLED SCREWRIVER, gently touch the lower points plate on top of the coil till it touches the field magnet. This will temporarily short out that coil.
You should hear a 25 % difference immediately. If yer still baffled take that same screwdriver and touch the plug wire terminal and the timer wire post on the coil box. Same thing as touching a plug to ground unless youre an anti purist like me!! ws

If you find a dead miss like Charlie & Bill describe the next step is to find out why. Trade the dead coil for one of the others that is working. If the miss follows the coil, the coil is in trouble. If the same plug is missing it could be the plug, the timer to coil box wire, the spark plug wire, the timer or the contacs in the coil box. The plug is easy - install a known good plug. The rest can be checked with a multi meter. You really need to know what is broken before trying to fix it.
