Locating 1940 Ford Pickup Sun Visors

I have sun visor brackets and visors for my 1940 Ford pickup, from Bob Drake, and I'm trying to locate them to drill and fasten them on the metal above the windshield. There appear to be slight indentations on this cowling that line up with my hardware holes. These are on each side of the cowling, at about the same distance, and I'm wondering if these were made at the factory for locating the visor hardware if it was chosen as an option. If these are factory markings I'd like to use them for the hardware, otherwise I'll just be guessing as to their location originally. Any help with this?

Yes.
Most pickups, if they had interior sun visors, only had the driver's side. So, on the passenger side, you would find the 3 dipples at the top of the windshield area. Of course, they would also be on the driver's side. If you are still unsure, use your brackets as a template -- the holes in the bracket should line up with the dipples above the windshield.

nelsb01,
Thanks for the information. I didn't want to put them "about" the right spot, only to find later that my one shot at this was the wrong one. Think I can move forward with the project now.

the triangle should fit into the metal impression on left top windshield for driver and rt top windshield for passenger...they should be there from the factory

Gumpy,
Thanks for the information. I remembered, but forgot to mention, that I had used a '46 truck cab for the '40 project. Real '40 truck owners can spot the later cab, but for the most part, it resembles an original. Everything but the cab is '40 Ford truck. So, from what I've learned lately, the '46 and '47 Ford trucks had these impressions from the factory. It means a lot to know that these are the correct spots to drill the screw holes. Thank you for your information.
