Hey y'all, I'm looking for a source of v-12 points and condensers. I would love to find some scintilla magneto points and condensers or bendix magneto points and condensers as I'm building a few LZ converted to v-8 for my hot flatty motor. Thanks in advance for any help.

I looked for a while for my V-12 and ended up going the Bubba route. He'll probably see this but you can go to bubbasignition.com for contact info.

Scintilla is long gone since most of there product designs were bought out by Bendix back when Christ was a corporal. The Vertex magneto is about the only Scintilla item being used to any extent now days but it wasn't an aircraft mag so it went its separate ways after the patents ran out. Bendix ignition systems was bought out by Teledyne Continental Motors way back there too. The only small mags in wide service from TCM/Bendix are the 200 and 1200 series for 4, 6, & 8 cylinder aircraft engines. I don't know if any of the points sets used in them are even close to what might be needed. Their points sets and condensers are the best quality out there for obvious reasons but aviation people have to pay dearly for that quality.

Yea I know he can get them but I was hoping someone had a napa part number like I see for ford points.

No napa numbers . I wish we could buy them from napa as the dual contact harmon collins uses them as well.

Carcraft magazines from April, May and June..1954 has the articles for building this distributor. I have tested quite a few of these on the machine but never made on from scratch..... those bendix points are 10-52344 W and cost approx 40-50 each from aircraft supply companies......:)

I have an original jim kurtan LZ converted and I want to copy it, so I can have a few set up for other motors.

BUBBA can I buy these from you or do I need to find a aircraft supply. Do you know any contact info for any of these suppliers?????

10- numbers are definitely TCM/Bendix. It would be interesting to know if they are still in production. I'll have to check my TCM mag book to see if that number is in there. There may also be a PMA or aircraft aftermarket manufacturer for that part. I don't overhaul mags due to them not being in my shop's FAA certification. I either exchange them with TCM or send them to an aircraft accessory shop.

Just to add: this flea-pay lists some other part numbers besides the old Bendix Scintilla number. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCINTILLA-P...DDEN-MARTIN-/132150128918?hash=item1ec4c2f116

The only problem is that they don't look quite right either so be aware. You never know though. They might be OK. They may have been setting around for 50 years.

The 29580-55 part number is an old Harley Davidson number for the old Hummer & Topper scooters from the 50s. VTwin markets a replacement but they might be made in China for all I know.
