Lighting switch body help

So I bought a new lighting harness for my 1930 TS, but when I un-clamped the body and removed it, the parts that go in the bottom half of the lighting body fell out. There were only three pieces inside of it: the spring, the small brass cap and the part with the dimples, but I cannot figure out how it stays inside the body bottom. The spring just pushes the contact disc off. Am I missing a part?

Ditto on old31. It looks like someone took the brass ring from another switch and piled it on top of the brass ring present in your switch body.

Normally the brass ring part is "captive" in the upper switch body.

Perhaps the original spring behind the first (probably original) brass contact "broke" and this was a farmer fix to make a light switch that works?

New switches are available. One of the sellers was selling the switch body for less than $5 for a while.

BUT. Keep in mind that switch bodies new have been made by several sellers over the years, in greater or lesser degrees of quality. And the original Ford design does suffer somewhat in execution, if not endurance.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t have a reproduction. I’ve been saving originals for years and they always seem to work for me. If you would like an original, send me a message.

Get yourself a original light body and if you can get a original spider, that's a bonus !
At swap meets find the grease caked or old painted up bodies that are stuck together.
Great $1 item.
