How is the steel rod connected to the handle (round device with lever) (1928) … press fit or soldered? My plater wants the rod separated from the handle so he can nickle plate the handle along with the button and retainer ring. My concerns are (1) how to seperate the two parts and (2) how to reconnect the rod to the handle after they are plated … if soldered, will new solder hold to the plating; if press fit, how do I go about this process? lever device appears to be a casting.
