Light switch reassembly instructions

HI folks,

I took apart my light switch to fix an intermittent headlight problem, and I neglected to take photos along the way. So now I have a couple of springs, a spider clip and it's retainer, some sort of gasket, and no idea in which order all these pieces go back together. :) I incorrectly assumed that there would be a diagram in one of my repair books, but I haven't found anything.

Can someone point me to an image of an exploded view of the switch so I can reassemble it properly? Thanks!

It's a '31 Roadster.

Thanks!

I don't have a picture, but the spring goes on the rod first, then the spider, which is hard to push up against the spring while you install the C clip.

Here you go.

A yardstick works well to hold the horn rod in place while you push on the spring.

Make sure the light switch handle points down and the spider is at 6 an 12 O'clock.

Thank you very much folks! Bob, I'm curious where you got that diagram - I suspect there are others that might be helpful to me as well. :-)

And one of those little inexpensive tools you get from Mac's Model A Parts or Snyder's to push and hold in on the spider while you put the little "c" shaped retainer in place saves a lot of aggravation. Used mine two or three times already and well worth getting it.

And yes, the switch inside the car goes down in the 6 o'clock position with the spider positioned at the other end in the 6 and 12 o'clock position.

Make sure that the STEERING LIGHT SWITCH BRACKET is installed with the Notch in sleeve down. Mine wasn't and I took a while to notice.
