Light plug into steering shaft

Seem to be having trouble getting the light plug into it's mating part @ steering tube @ the bottom of the tube...I am trying to get the the light switch pointed @ 6 o'clock inside the car...and not getting enuff penetration to activate the switch..any suggestions or Technics?

There are different lengths of horn rods, and I wonder if your's is the right one?

it's a 30 briggs....everything was operable before tear down and rebuilt steering 2 tooth box...going back is where the problem is...

Look inside the switch and make sure the notches are top and bottom to match the two tabs that tuck into them.

Does the switch case engage the steering bracket notch, or doesn't it fit together that far?

yes can get the twist tabs to engage but then wont turn switch to activate lights...will take another swing at the tabs lining up to engage into switch

Success got it lined up and pluged in and tested and it worked...Tx for all that gave advise..
