Whenever I see it lifted by those carb studs, it isn't the studs I'm thinking about. I've seen an awful lot of busted cast iron on other things. I'm sure the carb stud approach works fine, just can't quite do it myself.
I just lifted a complete block, without intake or heads, into my truck using only one exhaust bolt on each side. One 7/16” thread and one 3/8” thread. Did this because it had no pan and sat more steady upside down. No issues.
