License plate

I have a set of "30" plates with a "P-C" vertically on the left side. I have been told this is for pneumatic - commercial. Does this sound right and if so are these correct for a CCPU of that vintage?

Prior to 1948 passenger plates were used for either in Alaska. Several cities also issued plates during the Model A era. Anchorage, Juneau, Ketchican to name a few.

Thanks Don, Now if I could just find a 31 plate, I'd be all too happy. I'm sure that the 31 Anchorage plate would even be harder to find. Alaska does allow YOM plates, just finding them is the problem. I just might also have to find me a copy of the book. It sounds interesting.

Thanks , Don. These plates are real straight but could use a re-paint.
From your posts to this thread, it looks like you're into them. Do you restore?

It was explained to me that the PC plates were for commercial vehicles that did not have solid rubber tires, and that there was a difference in registration cost as they did less damage to the roads than the solid rubber tires on vehicles. Sounded good anyway!

Hey Don what about wisconsin 1929 commercial truck ,was there a certain letter or was there a truck plate for that year. Thanks Pete

Don:
Thanks for posting the photo of your 1931 "A" plate collection. Very impressive! Could you also post a photo of your 1930 collection? I'm particularly interested in the Washington plate for that year.

Best regards,
