Engine and trans ready for 40 coupe. NOS block left at 3 3/16 but have 4" crank and Ross pistons. Couldn't see boring it to 3 5/16 and losing some of its life.
Columbia rear end will be behind this with Bendix brakes.

Re: Let’s see what you’re working on this winter

Trying to wake up my coupe from her 25+ year nap and to have her driveable by the Turlock Swap Meet. Need to fix the collision damage first, then brakes, fuel and other time related problems. The car was parked in a garage after another car rolled into it while it was parked on a hill in San Francisco.

Re: Let’s see what you’re working on this winter

Hoping to get that new bearing and seal installed on the rear axle of the 52 Merc. And that M68 truck I think I am going to try and remove the heads to see just why it is seized up solid. All the varlous fluids and concoctions have done nothing towards un-seizing it so I guess it will have to come apart. Not looking forward to working out in the cold but indoor space is hard to come by now.

Great combination of new and old. NOS block, that is amazing! Hoping I can come visit sometime soon when we visit my stepson in Shelton. High 5 for not over-boring that block.

awful story. it deserves to be back on the road, that's a lot of down time.

Re: Let’s see what you’re working on this winter

Working to complete the 'Mehoopany' coupe. Looks like there are quite a few '36s in the works based on the previous posts.

I've included a photo of the chassis (almost complete) and a pic of her when I picked her up in October 2016.

Re: Let’s see what you’re working on this winter

My 32 5 window hot rod project is coming along - Dec 16 I have guys coming over to help lift the body from the frame so I can finalize the last bit of welding, mock up all my lines and such, and then blow it apart for grinding, sanding, paint, and the final assembly ....

Re: Let’s see what you’re working on this winter

I'll be finishing up the interior of my roadster I've been building the last few years and getting started on the '40 going through it mechanically.

I agree. My plan is to repair the damage without regard for cosmetics first. Get it driving again. And then decide what to do for the long term (paint, upholstery, etc.,or leave as is...).

Hi Gary, by all means let me know when you are coming down this way and you and your stepson can come by for a visit!
I am quite fortunate to have some new engines/blocks. Besides the one I just built, I still have for spares a NOS 41 raised deck block and a new complete 24 stud engine that I think is a wartime motor that was bought from Dennis Carpenter many many years ago when he had several of these, painted Navy gray. I have repainted it Ford green.
Next time I am on Orcas to visit Alison, will look you up!

Re: Let’s see what you’re working on this winter

The chassis in post #30 (50 DropTop) is a thing of beauty. Çertainly makes this young man's heart beat a whole bunch faster. Body looks exceptionally solid, too. Wouldn't mind hearing more of the story on this purchase/project! Ron

Working on getting my '36 Ford pickup back on the road. Hopefully this Spring of 2018 I will be driving it around town.

Here are some photos of my '36 Ford pickup project.
Installed a '37 steering column and box and 36% Mitchell overdrive.
Used my friend (and his Son) and their Hydraulic Hoist to raise then lower Cab onto chassis.
