As far as old Fords go, my 1924 T Tudor was the roughest start. This car was a one year project. Had much worse, but they were not antique Fords.

I started out with this frame and running gear for a model T and built this speedster. Lowered front axel, lowered rear frame cross member, HC head 3 to 1 Ruxtel, great driving car. I did the body work, paint, most of the mechanicals myself. My brother in law did the engine, great job goes like stink (for a T) and stops pretty good.

two pictues . one is the body as she rolled off the trailer. the other is the pickup full of sheet metal and other parts. Took four years to finish and now the "boss" doe not want to ride in it. Its for sale now.

But life is not over,. The next project is a Bad Word - semi street rod - mostly Model A but from everyones elses left overs.

Here are Photos of my next up coming project, I just purchased it in Jan. of this Year. With the help of my Son and 2 Grandson's. I think this will be a Family heirloom when it is done, and they will have the Memories of helping Grandpa, bring it back to life. The photo of the Finished one is our goal, but in Gulf Oil Blue and Yellow colors.

It will be in memory of my Father, who worked driving for the local Gulf Oil Distributor, for 12 years after an early forced retirement, when Republic Steel closed the Iron Ore Mining in our area.

It was a belt driven saw rig for fire wood when I bought it. 1931 Roadster Deluxe with straight bar on front to tow Two brothers built it in the 50s or 60s from what the family who owned it says.

This is what I have so far. Replaced the frame due to it missing 18 inches. Same motor and transmission. The brush paint job from steering wheel forward is how I found it in a shed. Fun to drive and runs great. Doing the brakes shortly. The other odds and ends I added just to make it roadworthy and legal.

i pulled one of these bodies out of the woods!, if you need some original trim, door hinges, and a rear quarter window trim I GOT IT!:D

It's my avatar! I paid $1500 and thought all it needed was some body work. It turned out the Engine was cracked in three places. None of the usual places either (Rear of the block. in the valve chamber. and somewhere else, CRS) The Hydro brakes were locked up. Half the glass was broken, the windshield was cracked and the frame was rusted out.
The seat springs were there, but rusty, but there were scraps of the original green mohair upholstery.
About 10% of the wood is reusable, 30% was so rotted it couldn't even be used for pattern.
I am replacing all four fenders and runnning boards
Maybe 10% of the cars hardware, bolts etc (excluding driveline) can be reused.
On the plus side, the body is basically solid, no serious dents or rust, The frame was straight. suspension was good. I was lucky in that I had an Ash tree cut down in the back and I was able to mill it into lumber from which I made some wooden components.
I've made my own seat frames using the same Ash and front spring from an old mattress spring. I still have lots to do!
