Let it go or make it into another project

Hey Alex,

Thanks for the kind words, I am not trying to sell my sedan. But there are days when I wish I would have bought a nicely restored Model A instead. It is about all I can manage to keep a stocker running well, and building one from scratch is a lot of work. I also thought this was a relevant comment on what Lars is thinking about doing.

That said, I have put a lot of thought into this project and it is really well suited to my needs and interests. I just wish I was drivin'. The frame has an original K-member and rear crossmember and reproduction rails (ASC) and front crossmember.

I am not far from a trip around the block, just gotta bleed the brakes and do some basic wiring. I have almost everything I need to finish it, but time is hard to come by lately.

Best wishes,
Will Kimble

I don't have any pic's of the underside but will if anyone wants to see.

If you want to sell that car, unless I am really missing something, you could easily put it on Ebay with a low starting price with a reserve set at what you want for it, and I think you will be surprised how much more money you would get for it. On Ebay with lots of photos, that car should sell for more than you want.

If you don't like Ebay, post it for sale at the price you want, on the Swap Meet Section of this site, on the For Sale Section of the Antique Automobile Club of America Site, and on Craig's List. You should have no problem selling it. I don't need another car right now or I would seriously consider it myself.

Larry, don't feel bad . You have an original there. I have roughly 18000 in mine and it's a Brookville body. I must say it's very enjoyable though. I wouldn't be afraid of making a nice driver out of it with overdrive, engine and suspension modifications etc. Great looking car, same color as mine. Those orange wheels are sharp. Keep it and enjoy it. Barry

I love Hot rods, but that car is too nice to be destroyed by cutting it up! Please don't hot rod it. To many roadsters have already been modified. The economy is still pretty rough. You may just need to advertise it more. Good luck with the sale. I think it's worth close to what you are asking.

That is a sharp looking roadster.
Would you happen to know what colour those wheels are?
do they match a chip in the mafca paint & finish guide?
Thanks.

Hi Lar
Just a thought. It is not the car or the price.
Money is just tight now, modify it and in a couple of years
it will sell.

I think you need to prioritize what you want. I thought the main reason for selling the car was it is too small for you. If that's the case, no amount of modification is going to change that. As far as E-Bay is concerned, you need to take the emotion out of the equation & look at it as a business decision. It will offer you the most exposure, world wide, and that's what is needed in this market. Who cares who the buyer is or where he is located, as long as his money is good.
Good luck with whatever you decide.
Don
