Leg room comparison in pickups?

I usually read the Model a forum, but am thinking about buying a slightly newer pickup. How does the leg room in say a '34 or '35 pickup compare to a Model A, or how does the '34 compare to the '35?
I know what's there in a Model A, but don't have a '34 or '35 close by to compare.

Thanks, Mel

Had both a 36pu and an A pickup. As I recall legroom in the 36 was only a few inches better than in the A.

I tried a 34 before going with the 35-37 pickups. The issue to me was not leg room as much as seat room for two adults without feeling too close to the other adult.

I find all of the pickups have good room for me - but, then again, I'm only 5'3" tall! :)
LOL!!!

Seriously, I've had several 40 p-ups and if you are not using the stock seat and set your Dodge Caravan, S10, or Suburban 3rd seat just right, my buddy who is 6'5" can get in and enjoy a ride of 1-2 hours easily.

I have a model A Victoria and a 39 ford pickup. The 39 pickup is much easier to get in and out of and has more leg room. I am 6'1", 195lbs and it is a real squeeze to get into the model A. I just completed the 39 pickup but I can crusie around in it with much more comfort. I have never rode in a 34-35 pickup so I can't help you with that specific comparison.

I started out as a Model A guy. Now I'm into the early V8's and they are a lot of fun to own and drive. My suggestion, go get yourself an early V8 ford, you will enjoy it.

We put custom built seats in our '38 because we wanted comfort. Now I'm a pretty good size guy (around the middle). I cannot fit in the drivers seat. My legs rub on the bottom of the steering wheel and my chest is big enough that there's no room to move my arms around to steer. Me put electric seats in so we could adjust the height of the seat but it didn't do much good. We have the same seat without the electric adjuster on the passenger side and I can sit in it but not for long periods of time. Whatever you do, if you have any size to you at all, put in seats that are close to stock.

I put a 30 rdstr p/u together for my dad a couple years ago I made doors using coach skins and sectioned 4-1/2 inches from the front of the box;- results- the most comfortable rdstr I've driven no one that has seen it ever notices the change

I had a real nice 31 with a built B engine beautiful truck, tried everything, shortened pedals inch and a half ,put in a caravan seat still no room had to sell it , most of the trucks until 48 had small cabs ,I now have a 53 f-100 with a merc flathead ,plenty of room in cab .

Back in the day when I was working, (in the sixties) and driving my '34 PU, I used to car pool. My partner was about 6'2" and he didn't complain, about the leg room. We also took on an extra passenger. A young lady from the stenographers pool. (Do they still have them?) This was a unique experience as she sat in the middle and had to keep moving her legs side to side while I shifted gears. She was a good sport! Ha Ha Ha!!!
