Ted im pretty sure you can do it, I need to check on mine, I know the angle is diferant so by rotaing as you sugest would bring angle back , You would need to check lock to lock, Derek where it seldom rains,
Ummm...no. The angle will be the same. A line perpendicular to the ball axis will still be pointing slightly left of forward, while you need it to point slightly right of forward.
You would have to put an opposite twist into the arm to make it work, and then you would still have the problem of the nut on the clamp bolt interfering with the box mounting bolt. This could be corrected by a bit of machining to allow reversing the bolt.
Ted, I would suggest sending your RHD pitman arm to either Bert's or Mike's to be shortened.
They used to shorten them before Snyder's started making new ones. I assume you would like to use a shorter one but there aren't any RHD short ones.
As the nice man says no matter which way you turn it LHD stays LHD and RHD stays RHD.Same with the drag link .Before reballing became common here pitman arms were "converted" by heating cherry red and twisting the stock to the correct angle. Seemed to work OK never ever heard of any failures. Got to thinking about that oddball sports coupe. If a S/W sedan door was used it would be slightly shorter fore and aft than a coupe door making the body that much shorter overall.Wonder what the rear wheel looks like in the rear fender ,is it astern a bit ??? Rear body bolts too,HHHMMMM.
John in lovely dry my lawn has gone brown but at least I dont need to mow it England
