LED Tail Lights.

Same problem with my forty coupe. What makes it even more hard to see is my car is painted red. I opted with a brake lite in the rear window. It is easy to see by all.

I used LEDs in the back window, too. These lights have running and brake lights in them, so they work to increase running, braking, and turn signal visibility.

I'm pondering on moving them to a vertical mount on either side of the tag.

Wanna disguise a third brake light on the back side? Check out this trunk lid Ford emblem with LED's lighting up the letters:

Installed the LED tail lights this morning and I can tell you they are definitely brighter than the 6v 1054's that I had in there. My buddy just followed me and he said the stop lights are bright and easy to be seen.

They are expensive though....$ 15.00 each - Part# 145416ALED6R

I bought from www.chevsofthe40s.com

Mike, Do you have turn signals? I hear that led's don't draw enough to use a normal flasher, any problems?

Do these work with the stock red lense or did you need to change to
something else?

36Bill & KGS.....

No turn signals yet, but will install this Summer. I'll let you know.

I have stock red lens in my '40. Would love blue dots, but it might cut the brightness. I have them on my '49 F-1 (12v) and they just look great !

Will take LED photos later and post here.

Ya looks effective. It is nice place to have lights for increasing visibility. Seems like good idea:)
