30Murray - Good idea, and I realize that modern daytime running lights do not light up the taillights. I suppose that I could do as you describe, running the cowl lights off my keyed circuit - but in the interest of KISS, I think I'll just live with it the way it is. I'm not seeing any particular downside to having taillights in the daytime. But thanks for the suggestion.Jay Jay, if you run a separate parallel power feed to the cowl lights, the tail lights will not come on as they are on a separate circuit from the light switch. I mounted a toggle switch with an LED indicator on my steering column using a little L-bracket. I have bright white LED's in my cowl lights and they make good daytime driving lights.
FWIW, I did get a set of the focused LED headlight bulbs and while I was at it some LED cowl light bulbs. They've been sitting on my dining room table for several months waiting for me to get motivated to install them. Maybe that's tomorrow's project.
