led directionals

Does anyone make directionals that work with LED 6volts system? I know the large parts houses offer system but they all seem to use the small lights that go in the bumpers. I would like to use the existing rear LEDs that I have and possible add some thing in the front about the same sizes as the original rear lights. the car is a 1931. Mikes Affordable offers a system that use solid state so theres now need of a flasher its a bit pricey. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have the solid-state set-up from Mike's and although it was hard to spend the money, in the end it was worth it. I've been running mine for 2 years and drive my 'A on the road just like it was a modern car.

The system runs on 6v, simple and easy to set up (one wire for power, a ground, and four wires to the LEDs, is unobtrusive, and the lights are very visible. No modifications to the car, either -- the control unit attaches with a magnet on the tank or wherever you want it. Two pushbuttons, push one for left, the other for right, or both for hazards.

It does have the LEDs that go between the bumper rails, but you really don't notice them until they're flashing, and they you can't miss them.

Hope this helps; let me know if you need more info.

THANKS Dan do you know if they can be used with existing tail and stop light.

The Logo lights that I got from Mike's and what Dan mounted come as a set of 4, but I suppose if you had LED taillights you could wire them in instead, you would have to check how much power the system puts out and compare their amber lights to your existing ones. I only had a single tail light and I put on the Logo Lights, made the one taillight LED and added a suction mount LED high brake light that is also 6V and I really like it. The Logo Lights can also be used as flashers.

The kit I mentioned is completely independent of the tail lights. I don't think it'd be a good idea to connect that kit to an LED tail light, as the system is set up for a specific LED load, which is different than a light bulb.

This is the kit I am referring to: http://www.mikes-afordable.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=A13311A&Category_Code=1234

That said, I DO run two LED tail lights in the original housings, and believe they are the only way to go if you want people to see when you have the brakes on.

I'll try to take some pictures of my installation and will post them.

When I ordered my LogoLights from Mikes they were listed as "LogoLights" now they don't show up in a search as such. But when "LED lights" are used as a search word Mikes lights show up without the Logo Lights brand name mentioned. Does Mikes own the name now or what? just curious.

Logolites has its own website, and I have heard many good things about Model A people using them; you can do a fordbarn search to hear opinions.

Well I just Googled "Logo Lights" and they used to come up as the light kit as we use on our Model A's. Now they don't show up at all. They probably lost the name as there are a bunch of different lights using that description. So if you like the lights, go to Mikes and order the "LED Lights" he has offered.
I really like mine and no holes to drill and easily removed and can be used on 6V, 12V, + or - ground with no alterations.

I spoke to "Logo lights" and they are unable to supply the turn indicator package due to a supplier issue. Are Mike's the same style of unit? The price is the same.
