leather covered trunk

Got a new trunk for our model A Phaeton, It's leather covered, what should I use on as a good protection.:)

Mink oil works well on leather. It is sold with shoe care products. Soften with a heat gun and rub in with a soft towel. It will darken the leathers color a little.
 
I suspect only the corners are leather and the rest is artificial leather. I've never seen a vehicle trunk covered in genuine leather whether new or old.
