Leaking Steering Box(s)

The problem with some F-150 conversions out there, is that some are wrecking yard boxes & how do you know it's not half worn out or had water/rust inside it? Some folks will do ANYTHING just to make them EVERLOVIN' $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$'s

This is not the case with our steering boxes. They are completely torn down, cleaned, blasted, machined, assembled with new internal parts including worm gears, sector rollers and pins, bearings, races, bushings and gaskets / seals. They are put together by me personally and are not released until I feel that they are right / correct to be sent out. Our (my dad's and my family) reputation is on the line and we will not jeopardize it in any way. If a person out there has experienced a problem with one of our steering boxes and we know about it, then we take care of the issue at hand. This is why I ask Tacoma Bob if the box he had was from us. If it was, then we would take care of it and make it right. I even offered to check his box out even though it was not ours. Why should he have to ******** a pan to catch the oil that is leaking? Why should he be unhappy with something we provided or anybody else for that matter?

Mel, my friend,
I was NOT referring to your boxes. You, My Man, have a great reputation!!!

EVERYONE,
In this flakey world it's hard to find REALLY good, down to earth friends, ones that you can trust to do what they say they will do! I've found a whole passel of them here! I even adopted a "SON" here.
I've observed some of you sending parts back & forth, trading parts, etc, but most of all, giving support, encouragement, mechanical advice, etc. I've learned MORE here, than I've contributed!

:cool:Hey troops. I don't want to be accused for hijacking this thread. My box was machined with all new parts right here in Tacoma by an excellent machinist. My problem is the shim packs are leaking. I no longer have access to the machinist and frankly have been too crippled up to get out and get under to make the repairs myself. Randy has been wonderful in explaining how to do this. I'm on the mend finally and next winter will send the unit to the Gross family.
