Lawless....

Yeah, movie was a bit raw, but considering the times and the killings-was to be expected
definitely not a Disney film....

I enjoyed the cars and stepping back in time. Today and the future, unfortunately, don't excite me much.

I sure loved the 1932 V-8 Roadster !
Wasn't that a Pierce-Arrow? (I figured the Indian with the bow made it a Pierce Arrow) Great looking car !
The movie had SO MUCH POTENTIAL, but with crummy scripts, it did not deliver as it might have.Cars, clothing, acting, effects were great.
Funny, but my wife and I went in trying to listen for the foul language that was certainly there, but we must be immune to it, and were not offended by it at all, but we do not consider ourselves particularly as "Church-People". Yes, also to occasional ******, probably to get an "R-Rating."
Lots of white walls, spare tire mirrors, stainless radiator guards.
The red head's tudor was pretty beat up looking for a two year old car.:p
I would watch it again on a plane trip or something. I can't imagine it ever making network TV.

The only thing I didn't like about the movie was that too many of the Model As had whitewalls.

Havent seen it yet, will later.. On the boobtube.

I sometimes watch bad period movies just to see all the period set and vehilce fails. Cragars on model a's, easter egg paint jobs, the same car passing the screen 3-4 times... Classic

Brother where art thou got it pretty right. But that was a good movie

Was OK. Wifey says she gets to pick the next movie, so that is not to be considered a positive review from her. "A" experts might notice a few post '31 cars in the opening minutes where downtown Chicago is featured as the voice over details the effect of prohibition on the city. Some post-repeal cars are also seen. A parked '30 or '31 derelict "A" parked in front of a building was amusing as it could only have been a year old for the setting.

Don -

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I will ask around. I'm not familiar with anyone in the local area having a double A, perhaps someone from the north side of town, but regardless I have several sources who loaned cars and I'll ask. If I learn who's truck that might have been I'll let you know.

The wife and I saw the movie tonight. Overall I liked it. I expected foul language, ****** and violence which unfortunately seems par for the course with a lot of hollywood movies. Especially with a name like "Lawless." I didn't think the language and brief ****** was nearly as bad as a few VERY graphic scenes of violence that were pretty disturbing. I thought that was the worst of it and would have been a MUCH better movie if they hadn't made it so graphic and gone into such detail. They could have shot a few scenes from behind or at a distance to give the audience an idea of what went on rather than made it quite so raw with the shockingly graphic scenes. I'm not a total car expert so I wasn't picking up on as many car details other than a few model A's did seem to have some excessive wear for being only a few years old. Good story and plotlines though, bad on graphic content.
