Later Hoods and Radiators (Or not)

I am pleading ignorance here and hope someone can help me out. For starters I am a box hood man. Give me a non-demountable brass car and I can show you where a cotter pin is out of place or a doo-dad is wrong. Newer cars are pretty foreign to me. (My cut off date is 1919). I now have an early 27 driving running gear. It has a 27 frame with a 27 number and a 27 engine with a 27 number. Looks like the steering column is 26-27. That said, the chassis has an older tin firewall with holes punched in it for a coil box. I am trying to determine if the hood and radiator are 26-27 or from an earlier car. I suspect that they probably predate the running gear. All I have of the hood is the two top panels. (I am so unfamiliar with the later T's that I don't know what the measurements of say a 24 hood versus a 26 hood should be. Shameful I admit but this is really unknown territory to me. So here is what I am asking. On a 25 or slightly older T how long is the top panel of the hood at the center hinge? How tall is the radiator? How the hell can I tell the difference? I think may have a 27 radiator and hood top panels that are sitting on an older firewall. Or maybe the radiator and hood are 25 or before. Nothing really fits that great due to whatever. Anyone have any ideas? I can send you all the photos you want. Thanks!

John,

This should help figure out your hood.

26/27-------------------- High hood------------- Low hood
------------------------------23 to 25---------------17 to 23

And the metal firewall styles. Low and High firewalls for the respective radiator shells for the low and high hoods. The' high' firewall is wider than the 'low' cowl firewall.
