late V8 waterpumps

The RH pump on my 8ba just started leaking, less than 15k miles. Is this normal? These are the "modern" pumps that are sold by all of the usual vendors. Wondering if I should expect the other one to fail soon. Are they rebuild-able or just a throw away item? Thanks.

Skip rebuilds a lot of the so called "modern" pumps. If you still have the originals get him to do them. His rebuilds move more coolant through the system than any pumps available. More water in the system (fill the radiator) and more flow equal a cooler engine. G.M.

at 15,000 miles the pump should not have failed, i would change the bad pump and leave the other one alone, parts fail and you may have got one with weak or parts assembled wrong, keep the pump because a lot of rebuilders want a core. any way install a pump from a known reliable rebuilder
