Anybody have any information on what is necessary to install a 49-53 flathead into a 1934 ford?

Your assistance is appreciated.:)

A brief reply although there are more experienced builders on line. There will be radiator clearance problems with the distributor and water pumps. If you use the 37-48 water pumps, 37-41 or 41-42 distributor with matching cam and front plate, it will work. My fan is mounted on the gen or alternator. Not sure of rad hose clearance with the heads you are using - mine are the center outlet type. It can be done but some expense will be involved.

If I was going to put an 8BA in a 34 this is what I'd do. Install a 59AB cam, and front cover, dist down front, use 59AB water pumps, plug one water hole in the block above the pumps. Use the 2in. spacers under the motor mounts. Speedway sell them. Use 8BA truck oil pan and truck adapter plate on back of engine. Use the 34 gen. with fan. Use 39 crank pulley. Walt
