late 50's Y-block rocker arms

I have late 50's rocker arms with the resistance fit threads and a few of the rocker arms have worn thread so the screw backs off after the engine is warmed up ruining a perfectly good valve lash adjustment.
Does anyone make a shallow locknut that will fit on those adjustment screws?

I just had the same trouble I ended up purchasing a sent of used rockers with the lock nut and changed all the self lockers with the lock nut. I made a couple of calls to see if there was a "fix" but none that were permanent. Gerry

You can buy replacement rocker adjustment screws from Macs Auto Parts, Concours Parts and Tee-Bird Products.
It is not unusual for the screws to come loose over time.

Some suggested a while ago on some forum I read that just take a hammer and slightly bugger the threads in one area to provide a fit that won't loosen.

Most of the time it is the threads on the screws that get worn. The rocker arms may be OK. But I could be all wrong LOL. Bill

Dave Have you got the self lockers worked out? If you are interested I can send you the ones I took out of my car there were plenty of tight ones? Pay the mail postage and they are yours, If you want I can find a couple of tight ones and just send what you need? Gerry in HOT AS HELL Southern Ca
