late 31 truck question

the late 31 pick up where the fenders mount to the bed, is there a spacer in between the fender and bed, i've looked in the catalogs and the spacers for cc trucks say "not for late trucks", my fenders were off the truck when i got it and the holes don't line up to the bed, so i think there has to be a spacer there ?, also the bed fenders have a bracket or brace on them in the front about 1 to 1-1/2" up, what are these for ?, thanks.

The late '31 "wide-bed" did not have spacers, and the fenders were different than earlier beds. The wide-bed has 3 hinges for the tail gate, earlier ones have 2 hinges.
