I have not seen anyone make a good reproduction yet. they all need work on the front where it meets the fender, the bottom where the running board set down in the groove and the rear is not right either, on the late aprons there is a step in the back on the side where it meets the fender, I made some dies to press that step in the aprons. If you do find a place that makes good ones let me know. John

I understood only one long late '30-31 runningboard apron was manufactured regardless of who is retailing them. Gaslight in Urbana, Ohio was having them made (by Engle at the begining anyway). As John says there were issues when they first came out and probably worse today as the dies wore. I remember in the early eighties there was a gap where it fit to the front fender. The "trough" that the edge of the runningboard sat was made on a sheetmetal brake and not "U" shaped. That would not allow the runningboard to set down in it. Again, for what I recall back then the front fit the equally screwed-up repro fender better than an original. As has been beat to death, our volume of buying a repro does not allow for an equal quality to original at a price anyone is willing to pay. So your choice is buying a repro that isn't rusted and beat up but needs rework or finding an original that fit at one time but needs maybe even more repairing. Choices, choices...................
