Large O-ring for shock absorbers...

The large O-ring gaskets (seal) for which comes with the shock absorber seal kits, which by the way run about $30-35.00/kit from the vendors (a little spendy I think for some rubber gaskets, rope, and BB's) is OK for the Inside Diameter BUT are just to thin to properly seal the cover and the lock ring...I think anyway.

Is there a rubber company, and I am sure there is, for which one could contact to get some of those larger O-ring rubber gaskets?

Have used Permitex non-hardening dope on the threads of the body and cover but would also like a thicker O-ring to insure the seal just a little more.

Thanks.

Try an aviation parts supplier, aircraft o-rings come in different cross section sizes for a certain diameter. You could also try metric o-rings to see if one is of a slightly larger cross section.

I go to the place locally that does hyd hoses, used to do hyd jacks, they have a large assortment of most every size, the other place if you just need a few would be the local auto trans rebuilding shop and ask to look in the "leftover" box.

Here is another one you might try... http://www.sealcompany.com they are here in Okc, I take them a unknown size o-ring in and they size it on a cone that sits on the counter, maybe looking at their web site can help you find a company like it closer.
