laminated flat glass

I'm building a 1910 REO truck, using some ''T'' parts. I've fabricated a 1914 style T touring windshield, just a little shorter. Any leads on custom cut flat glass at a decent price in the East? Thanks for any leads. Gary

Any good glass shop can make a windshield out of safety glass. I might suggest that you let the glass shop install the glass into the windshield channel. Many of these old glass channels have small imperfections. It not totally cleaned out they will cause the safety glass to crack.

Thanks for the answers. Danny's Auto Glass in Hampton, Va cut my '26 T Roadster glass in '83 or so. I retired from 40 years of autobody repair and painting and during that time I learned every possible way to break a glass....Ha. This windshield frame is all new steel, this replica is of a vehicle so old that it's unlikely anyone at a show will notice any detail differences. A pic of the top half, the glass channel has not been cut out yet.

Gary,I recently replace the windshield on my 12 T and the glass shop was unable to install the safety glass because it was to thick for the channel ,they ended using the thinner safety glass intended for use on super market cooler doors. I wouldn't recommend not using the channel, tried a the glass cracked from vibration.Phil

Just a plug for Vintage Glass in Tolland, CT. His glass is in my 1914 Touring. After all these years, he told me I was still riding around behind non-safety glass when I brought in the old windshield! He is fast and does good work. Ed

Thanks for the info guys, I should have been more clear, the frame slot for the glass channel hasn't been cut out yet. The glass will be set in urethane, so it will not move around at all.
