L31 Stop light Switch

Anyone got a picture of an installed stoplight switch on a late 31? The way mine is currently installed, it's in the closed position when the brake pedal is up, and open when its pressed. That means brake light on normally, and off when you hit the brakes... I'm thinking it's a mechanical issue, but I've no idea how it should be.

I don't have a picture, but the plunger should be depressed when the brake pedal is in the up position -- brake light off.
 
So mine is mounted plunger facing the front of the car, linkage coming from the brake pedal moves towards the rear of the car when the pedal is pressed... So something is clearly backwards here.

Now that I'm thinking of it, this might be a case of recollection error... Does the brake pedal to cross shaft rod move forwards or backwards when the pedal is pressed??
