Kudos to Bratton's

I buy from Bratton's or Tam's. Nothing from Macs. I got a pair of rumble lid stop brackets from Macs and they looked like they were made with tin snips and a pair of pliers, and were thin sheet metal. Got a set from Brattons and they were stamped heavy metal, and unlike the Mac's they acutally fit.

I appreciate you all sharing your stories, both positive and negative. I order from both quite frequently and have never gotten anything but great customer service.

I do wish Bratton's would update their website. Mac's is much easier to navigate.

Hello guys,
Mac has the best website in my opinion. But otherwise I'm happy with all three(Macs,Snyders,Brattons). Good customer service and always friendly.
And also the shipping overseas always works well and very quickly.
I think there are parts you buy better from Macs, others to buy from Snyder.
For example, Break-Drums i buy at Snyders, good quality and cheaper than Macs.
I notice that Macs mostly have higher prices.
But I could not say with certainty who is the best.
I think the friendliness of the service is generally higher in the U.S. than in Europe.
And now, buy a lot. This is good for the economy.:D

Best wishes
Barney

Bill Williamson,
I'm glad you like Mac's. I am not trying to start an argument here. I am not changing my opinion of them as I given them two chances, with the same results. I figure a company that wont tell a customer where the parts come from is probably hiding something. When I ask at Bratton's, they always tell me the source of the item, good or not so good. I have decided not to purchase a few parts, but not many, based on the parts supplier. I suspect that Mac's thinks a customer might go directly to their supplier instead of buying the part from them. In my opinion, Mac's and Bratton's are not in the same class, but to each his own.

Brattons is one of the best parts dealers out there. I have never had a problem with them.

MAC's is one of the worst place for parts.

brattons, berts, and snyders are the best ones in my opinion.

Rusty,
Go easy on Mac's, I've bought a LOT of parts from them and they're DAMN good folks to deal with!!
Nobody's perfect! Bill Williamson

I agree and I have had good service from Mac's. And, they'll bring parts to shows for free. I saved some significant postage-and hassles- especially with a cowl band and bumpers.

My father dealt with Bratton's a lot when he started restoring his Model A and I have continued to do so now that I own the car. I have always been happy with the products and the service.

In fairness to Macs, I bought a kit from which didn't include one part. I called them up and they replaced it free of charge. However, I think the shipping charges are a little less from Brattons. My wife and I took a ride down (from NJ) there once to get my HC head and I found they're excellent to deal with. One daughter lives in Denver,so on a visit to the mile high city, I went to Berts. I wish they were closer. Bert has a Mod. A junkyard and a couple of full time mechanics, who were very generous with their time and advice. I was allowed free reign of the place. I was in his engine shop watching them weld counterweights in place (with a MIG). Then I was wandering the junkyard. No one ran out yelling about their INS doesn't allow this. A thoroughly enjoyable visit!
