O.K. a guy gave me a KR Wilson tool that appears to be a tool that bolts to an engine. It is a cast piece that has three big holes on the top and much smaller holes on each end that would handle bolts. The larger holes could easily handle a large chain passing through the holes. The part # is TR 2. I have trouble posting a photo so hopefully someone will know the use for this tool.

Tom....
Does it look like the circled part

Bruce, that's the tool in your photo. I'm thinking it might be for a 6 cylinder motor. Thanks for the research. You photo shows a slight curve on the bottom of the tool and mine is totally flat on the bottom. Obviously there are two different versions in looking at the part numbers.

Tom,
Got this wonderful KR Wilson Automotive Service Tools and Garage Equipment book from the late great David Cole.
It is like brand new (and since it was printed in 1949) it is pretty much slab side Ford orientated. So, glad to help. Best part was that I was able to determine what to look for from your description.
And as you note, they decided to change their naming and numbering.
So I guess 6000-P equals TR 2.
