I have a reprint of the "1931- 1932 Catalog of K.R. Wilson tools for Ford". In that catalog they show the machine and attachments for both the Model A engine and the Model T engine. To update earlier Combination Machines to the Model A engine they list 12 attachments required for this update. The two items of interest to me are: A300-J Combination Machine Bed Plate and A300-K 1/8 x 9 x 9 Raising Block.
On page 10 of my catalog they show a picture of the machine set up for the A engine and the Raising Block is shown in the picture. They also list the attachments needed to do the T engine with this machine. This includes a Bed Plate.
On page 16 they show a picture along with a list of the attachments needed to update the earlier machines to do the A engine. Although the Raising Block is listed it is not show in the picture.
My question is: what is the purpose of the Raising Block? Is it used with both the A and T Bed Plates or just one of them?
Hope this makes sense.
