KR Wilson Distributor Fixture question

I've seen some of these with three bolts to hold the distributor, and some with only two studs(spaced for a three bolt distributor) to place the dist on.
Where there different models of this made for earlier distributors or will they all work on all three bolt distributors?
I know some came with the extra plate for the two bolt dist, along with a cam spacer.
thanks,

Ralph

Early and late V-126 fixtures function the same. Different number of studs does not affect the operation.

The earlier model usually is mounted on a wood box, the later on a metal box. The later units also normally have a degree scale. Like many other older mechanical things, parts may have been mixed. I added a homemade degree scale to my early V-126 ... it works as well as my later one.

The scale is the major difference in the use of the different fixtures.

In one of the later KRW catalogues it said that the early wood base fixtures could be sent back to be updated for the 2 bolt dist. --that would mean that there can be many variations.

That is interesting. I've overdosed on turkey and apple pie, and have had to sit and think about this.

I think I've concluded:

1. It does not have so much to do with the 2-bolt distributor since the adapter will take care of that ... more likely it means an overall upgrade to also include the addition of a degree scale and differently marked wheel.

2. I'm only guessing.

3. No ice cream on that next piece of pie ...

4. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So it sounds like the 2 bolt adapter will fit the early version OK. I was thinking of buying one and wanted to find out what I should be looking for.
Thanks,

Ralph
