If a person ever wanted to learn how to clean and service a carburetor, I can't think of many automotive carburetors that would be much easier to work on. To restore to brand new appearance is another level but they generally don't look that way very long for a driver car. Any local restoration shop should be able to get it back in usable condition. To me, it's like servicing a lawn mower carb that set too long with old 87 octane unleaded fuel left in it. I'm cleaning out the carb from my old 56 Ford 850 tractor right now.
