I have no dog in this fight, but I wondered about what has been said about the rollers only partly rotating when the spindle turns. I did a little basic math and came up with a calculation that seems to indicate that if the spindles turn 30 degrees in operation, that would equal 1 full rotation of the needle, given no slippage. Could some one who has the specs on one of these sets do some measurements of the exact diameters (needles and king pins) of the actual parts involved? The formula I used is :
(pi X KP)/12 divided by pi X NB
(KP=King Pin Diameter, NB=Needle Bearing Diameter)
For my purposes, I believe the material involved is of secondary importance (given the way most of us drive these cars).
