Kick panel clips?

Gday all, On my 28 Tudor (RHD), should there be a kick panel 'clip' that holds the bottom of the card kick panel inside the cowl? If so, could someone please post a pic of exactly where it is riveted/spot welded to? I have no original part to check unfortunately.

Thanks, Gus

I'm very interested in this question as well.

My 29 Roadster does not have the clips (wave shape in cross-section) although I have a couple of repro's in my spares box.

Are they riveted or welded onto the frame?

There is a thin metal channel running along the bottom that the kickpad tucks into. I don't think I have a picture of it though.

Just a test

The metal channel for the lower kick panel on my 29 roadster is made into the sub rail extension, the diagonal front piece on the inside edge toward the side cowl panel. Nothing on the very bottom. I would think it is the same on all models. Will try to post a picture.

Have just looked at my '29 tudor &[ as said], the kick panel fits into a channel on the metal toe riser of floor sub frame. The rubber mat & pedal pad [ as on a RHD] also help hold everthing. The original kick panels on my car which needed replacing also had crimped brass corner pieces which I still have but could never figure out how to refit to the replacement panels. Has anyone else seen these?
Gus, what is body number of your RHD Tudor? Should be on metal cross frame directly in front of passengers [RHD] seat. Aussie or NZ?

Thanks, So it seems there is no seperate piece of channel spot welded to the subframe? I see these in the Snyders catalogue. Not for my Tudor?

Frame number is F4-17088. I am trying to establish the history but it's a Kiwi car I think.

As Don said, those are used on '30-31 type bodies only. The floor board riser and screws at the rear is all that is needed at the bottom as long as the cardboard is properly fitted. You do need the special retainer at the upper front edge that fastens with the gas tank mounting bolt.

I am about 98% sure that those were only used in 1930 - 1931. I don't remember ever seeing them on a 1928 or 1929.

I have those on my late 29 Fordor but wonder what holds the top of the kick panel my drivers side panel curled and is in the way when you use the clutch. I have tried bending it the other way to get the panel flat but no good.

Here is a picture of the wire loops/panel clips on the right side of my 28 Phaton. You can see the back loop just holds the wire, but the front one has the bend to hold the top front of the kick panel. BTW, my car has the hand wiper, so no wire is used.

When no wire is used, I'm not sure, but this would indicate the rubber grommets weren't installed in the loops.
