Hi everyone, I just want to put a good word out for Ken. Over the last year I have had a bunch of annoying problems with my flathead. It's a Merc with a few mods. Anyway my dual carbs-94's-always gave me issues so I had Ken put two together for me. His carbs work great, the flathead is running better than it has in the last 15years. Ken knows alot about these old carbs, I took his advice on the set up and I could not be happier with the way the old girl runs. Prior to dealing with ken, I took some advice from a supplier in Florida which I found was not accurate after doing what Ken suggested. As I said, Kens carbs look good, run good and don't leak. I won't miss dealing with leaks. I don't post much but I read the Ford Barn daily and appreciate everyone contributions. Enjoy your rides and stay safe. Dan

Well thank you Danny for the good words, glad its running good and keep on trucking.Personally i like working on Strombergs more than 94's but i still do a lot of them and i got to buck Uncle Max as a competitor. Its tough to beat UM but we get along great any way. Theres plenty of business for all of us,UM,52 Henry an Charlie NY and me. Well tomorrows KNEE day.I will have to lay off the shop for i guess a mth or so. Have built inventory i can workoff for now. Thanks again Danny. ken ct.

Ken, forget the old Fords, this is riding season. You should never let a Triumph sit!!!!! Good luck with the knee. Dan

I know why and how but do not agree with the practice. Ask, Charlie,ny he is a believer in the practice. We disagree on that point lol. ken ct.

Guys,
On 3x2's I prefer to remove the PV's in the end carbs but always run a PV
in the center carb when running prog linkage. Of course if the customer wants PV's
in all 3 I accommodate his wishes.
I certainly admit I have a lot of 2x2 setups out there without PV's , the carbs
can easily be built that way....the only reason for this was the POSSIBILITY of
internal fuel leaks caused by reduced vacuum when using low # PV's of unknown
manufacture.
My 2x2 setups now DO have PV's since I've settled on the use of genuine
HOLLEY PV's, they are readily available from 2.5 in/hg on up and the quality is
excellent. Holleys do require a bit of machine work inside the bowl to clear the
larger retaining ring but no big deal.
If you've used something else and it works I'm happy for you.

I've run two 94's on our '47 Rag Top without power valves for almost 15 years without any problems.:) I ran two 94's on our '51 F-1 for several years and had a number of issues,:( in fairness, I can not be absolutely sure that the issues were all power valve related.

I run three 94's with no PV's and 52 jets on my 286 in my dragster. It comes off the line like a shot, no bogging, rev limiter set at 5500, 1/8 mile track, go's through trap on the limiter. Last time came off the line with peddle to the metal, twisted the driveshaft right off like a tutisy roll, checked tach back in the pits, it turned 7100rpm before my boy could get his foot out of it. Flatheads for ever. Walt
