Hi pretty cool find.. Info about the early crew cab trucks is hard to find... The majority of the CCB's were either utility company and/or military.. I have seen a few '59 Ford's and latter, I don't believe I have ever seen a '56 or earlier Ford.
GM started making crew cab trucks in '37 for the utility and military use. Dodge and International also made a lot of CCB's.
Ford made a lot of club cabs and crews in their South America plants, Argentina/Brazil.
If you are going to put the cab on an F100 chassis, consider a F250 for an 8' bed, using a 6' bed in lieu of the 8'.. That is how Ford made their crew cab pickups up to about '79.
A later model twin I beam chassis, about '72-79 would work very well... I have seen one '59 crew that had a twin I beam chassis... It looked very neat.
There is a web site devoted to Ford crew cabs... oldfordcrewcabs.com
