Well - changed up the firewall as I found some better carpet in color and longevity I think ....

I am also running the wires within the old cloth sleeves. Takes longer but is in keeping with the time frame of a late 50s early 60s build ....

More firewall progress today working with my 11 year old grandson for the first time. He's absorbing as much as I can throw at him.

Great work Tom, It's great to build things, it's why some of us are in this hobby. I posted this a few months ago and will again with all the up grads. My partner in this project had open heart surgery , so be a while before things are all welded up.

Progress pics - I am still at it. Trying to do as much as I can with the body off. Hence, the insulation, carpet, and mc trap door in the floorpan, the gas pedal still needs some bending, and the wiring of my old Ford single wire start button is now complete.

I am also working on and crewing for the Virginia HAMB special Bonneville project - we leave in less than 3 weeks and there's a lot to do still ..

A few more pics .... getting to the end of my interior and firewall wiring. Just the front headlights, accessory amber light, and rear taillights are left. Getting real close ...
First pic is the backside of my dash - a lot of spaghetti. Second is of my interior lighting - with the real pipulated firewall, covered foil insulation, and no garage lighting on, it will not be as bright.
Third us of my instrument lighting. These are 35 Buick gauges ....

I will be off to Bonneville, crewing in the Virginia HAMB Special XO/PP race truck, Aug 5th and on the salt Aug 9-17. We should be parked next to Danny Thompson in the pits. Come by and say hey ....

Started the carpet binding - only did the two center pieces. The outer two need the body in place or the floorpan in the body to do the rest ....

Thanks very much - it's not all good as I have my strengths and weaknesses just like everyone else I guess. But I enjoy it and try to incorporate some different "looks" as much as possible ...

Needed to "mock up" my seat to get the gas pedal right - I used an original pedal setup but due to limited room on the engine side of the firewall I mounted the pedal setup on the inside, return spring and all ....
