How many individual parts in a short block flathead V-8? I know it varies. How many for each? Has anyone ever counted.

Not sure but my old man found me a beaten up old BSA Bantam to mess with when I was 14 and told me I should be able to take the engine apart and put it back together cos it only had 3 moving parts...crank, rod and piston. And he was about right!

It has more parts than the modern monkey motion engines since the valves are in the block.
